NMMS Institutes & Conferences
NMMS hosts annual Institutes and Conferences to offer intensive networking and learning opportunities for the MainStreet network. MainStreet leaders and anyone interested in downtown revitalization topics are invited to attend these events to learn from special speakers, content experts, and local leaders. Check our calendar for upcoming meetings!
The meetings offer deep dives into MainStreet Topics in the Four-Points organized around the State Program’s Economic Transformation Strategies. Meetings take place in MainStreet Communities throughout the state. The Winter Conference is always held at La Fonda in Santa Fe to provide advocacy opportunities for MainStreet Organizations during the legislative session.
Past offerings have included:
- Back to Basics: Purposeful Promotion(s)
- Metropolitan Redevelopment Area (MRA) plan: Public/Private Partnerships and Implementation
- Financing Catalytic Building Projects
- Building a High Performing MainStreet Program
- Making Downtown Happen: Design Interventions for MS Districts
MainStreet Executive Directors, staff and leadership should attend NMMS trainings and networking events to build their skills and knowledge. Task force and committee chairs are also encouraged to attend relevant trainings. The Board President, and other members of the Board of Directors, as well as other organization leaders should attend NMMS trainings and networking events. Executive Directors attend all three state-produced NMMS Leadership Network Meetings (Winter/Summer/Fall Leadership Network Meetings, and biannual Building Creative Communities Conference) in the calendar year.
