NMMS kicks off our “Shop MainStreet: Shop our Local Businesses” Campaign. The campaign is offered on an annual basis to assist local communities with developing Shop Local Strategies to bring more people downtown for the holidays. NMMS has 28 MainStreet Communities throughout the state, many who offer special Shop Local Events and those who will be holding Small Business Saturday activities on November 25. Other festive activities include Holiday Open Houses, Holiday Parades, and other markets and gatherings intended to bring people into the districts for the holidays.
The Shop Local Campaign helps connect the many holiday events in the districts with activities and commerce in local businesses in community; connecting community members and visits with memorable events as well as opportunities to enjoy special holiday sales and offers. Many of our MainStreets are involved in the decorating of downtown and bringing the energy of holidays to their community. MainStreet holiday events help spur the local economy and bring community members together.
Keep an eye out for our special holiday posters and events that feature the Shop MainStreet logo. And remember to Shop MainStreet and Support Our Local Businesses. This year’s Shop MainStreet Campaign provides tools for you to create unique and engaging events in time for the holiday shopping season. The Shop MainStreet Campaign includes a Shop MainStreet holiday poster, Campaign Tool Kit for marketing and promoting seasonal events, and a Listing of Holiday Events.
Shop MainStreet builds awareness of the quality services and retail businesses in New Mexico’s MainStreet districts. We know that dollars spent with locally-owned businesses recirculates in the community more than dollars spent in chain or big box stores. Shop MainStreet this holiday season.
