New Mexico MainStreet Releases Frontier Communities Initiative Application FY16

Frontiers Logo 2New Mexico MainStreet has opened up the application process for new Frontier Communities. You can download the Frontier Communities Initiative Narrative and Application on our NMMS website under the Resources heading at the following link:

The purpose of the Frontier Communities Initiative is to provide community economic development support to rural communities under 7,500 in population to develop a catalytic economic development project within a traditional or historic commercial district (i.e. courthouse square, town center or village plaza).

The New Mexico MainStreet team will also be providing informational Pre-Application workshops. To find out if your community might qualify with an eligible Frontier economic development project please attend one of our three Pre- Application Workshops:

May 5 Española (San Pedro Community Center – Rio Arriba County Rd 8 #30)
10 am – Noon Frontier Community presentation

May 7 Tijeras (Village of Tijeras Hall, Council Chambers – 12 Camino Municipal)
10 am – Noon Frontier Community presentation

May 12 Mesilla (Town of Mesilla Community Center – 2231 Avenida de Mesilla)
11 am – 1 pm Frontier Community presentation

Communities with a municipal, business, or property owner representative in attendance at one of these workshops will receive bonus points in the ranking of their proposal/application. Submission deadline for the Application is July 7, 2015.
