Thanks to all of you who participated and made the inaugural Building Creative Communities Conference held last week (November 12-14) in Santa Fe a great success!
“Inspirational new ideas for new projects and connections and potential collaborations!” That is the feedback on the evaluation form from one of the 180 attendees, and reflects the comments made by numerous others at the sold-out gathering of representatives from New Mexico’s revitalization, preservation, arts and tourism fields.
Throughout the event, a diversity of participants expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to come together and learn each others’ stories. The planning committee is reviewing a huge stack of evaluations brimming with constructive comments for future conferences. And beyond educational and networking events, state and local participants alike plan to explore the practical actions we can take to put creative thoughts into innovative action.
As another conference participant put it, we are “hoping for a future based on these new ideas.”
