Farmers markets are fast becoming a central community gathering place, but what are their economic development/health implications for farmers, consumers, cultures and communities? How do farmers markets foster and preserve elements of our rich New Mexico cultural landscapes, honoring the work and continuing traditions of our ancestors? What are the development opportunities created by farmers markets and what is their impact on farmers, lower income people and young people wanting to join their multigenerational agricultural families in this profession?
